On a less pleasing note it has been discovered that there is a mistake on the pattern resizer we have just brought onto the market, which have indeed been very popular and this is a printing error so anyone who is or has been a bit confused with them is probably right, you have not lost the plot at all ! anyone would have been equally confused ! On the reduction side of the calculator the imperial measurements printed from 41cms up has a wrong imperial alternative for example 41cms should be 16.1/8 inches and not 11 inches as it says, this carries on to the 49cm mark. All those who have purchased this item can have a replacemnt at no cost, all you need do is email us and advise us of the invoice number at the top right hand corner of the invoice and we will be able to cross reference this and send you a replacement if you so wish , alternatively we can supply you with the correct conversion numbers if you feel that would be easier. This is her little story! While surfing the internet one day I decided to search for moon bear items on ebay. As I scrolled through the items I was surprised to see a paper pattern kit to make a cuddly moon bear teddy. It was a fairly old pattern from the early 1980s and endorsed by Brooke Shields! I snapped it up for a bargain two pounds. When I packed my bags to move to Vietnam to work at the new Animals Asia Moon Bear Rescue Centre, I stuffed it in my bag and there it stayed until Animals Asia's 10th anniversary. I thought this work be a great gift for Jill Robinson, who has achieved so much for the moon bears over the past decade. The old quarter in Hanoi has almost everything you could wish for if you know where to look – unfortunately I didn't! I spent a good two hours aimlessly wondering the streets in humid July weather in search of the elusive material street that I knew I'd seen somewhere a long time ago. Finally with much relief I stumbled across it and tucked right down the end I found a stall with fake black fur, fake cream fur, needles, thread and stuffing. I couldn't find plastic eyes or noses anywhere though, so I decided to look online. I came across the Beary Cheap website and was delighted to find that they were supporters of AAF and had been dear Naji's sponsors. I knew and cared for Naji when he arrived at the China centre and I couldn't think of a better place to buy the final parts. I ordered them immediately and Jim was so friendly and helpful, shipping my items out right away as he knew I had a deadline. When I looked at the pattern I was surprised, I never knew a teddy bear was comprised of so many parts. It took me a whole night just to cut the pieces out and I ended up with black fluff everywhere for days, all over my room, all over me, even up my nose! Despite a couple of minor disasters, I had a great time making him. He is a bit lop-sided in places, but he does resemble a moon bear. I've decided to name him Arthwr. It's a Welsh name that means "bear hero". After all, that is what Jill is to me. Happy 10th Anniversary AAF. I'll make him a girlfriend for your 20th! BARGINS GALORE
